In Vancouver's Yaletown I visited a wonderful decor boutique called "The Cross", which I discovered on a previous visit:
The Cross is truly a cross between chic European and a more romantic, whimsical style. But don't let the "pretty" fool you. The Cross's staff have serious design and decorating chops.

I fell for this faux gilded Louis XVI chair. I liked the unexpected combination of the fancy chair with the plainer ticking stripe and dragonfly pillows:
I really liked this polka-dotted black and white ottoman, shown next to another Louis chair:
I was fond of this Baroque-inspired mirror, cheerfully updated in turquoise. Sold!:
Some feminine finds fill this old-fashioned cabinet, with a blue upholstered interior. How clever! I regret not bringing the pale blue trophy cup home:
The Cross has such interesting accessories. The wire ferris wheel would be wonderful in a child's room:
Vintage finds are interspersed with newer items. I bet this scale has stories to tell:
They also had a fun collection of John Derian paperweights and trays, just like the ones I saw at The Conran Shop in Paris:
Wonderful chandeliers!! And fine soaps by Rancé! Who could ask for more?!
I hope you've enjoyed your tour.
Do check out The Cross next time you're in Vancouver's Yaletown!
That tufted back of that cabinet is unglaublich!
