Windlost Makes A Getaway

Life has been very trying lately. My headaches have been very, very bad and work is a little stressful. So I decided it was time for a getaway to "reboot" my system and get some fresh west coast air ...

David and I love the west coast. And Victoria, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, is my favorite place in Canada for rest and relaxation. Plus, some of my favorite people live there!
On the ferry. Our previous trip to Victoria.

I get to visit my bff, in the photo below. She is clever and brilliant and unstoppably positive and interested in the world. She also "gets" me, and I can use some understanding right now!
Amazing M. and I. Her t-shirt reads "Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History". Need I say more?

I also get to visit my aunt, S. who I love and adore and who is also one of the cleverest, wittiest women on the planet (and a serious dog lover, so she really is a fine person).

Two great women in one weekend!

I get five days in heaven (well, with a little chilly rain). Everything is in bloom there too!
The inimitable Butchart Gardens

We plan to do lots of walking and resting and eating. Massages are booked. Organic restaurants await. Bookstores are on the list. Lattes will be drunk. Favorite antique shops will be visited...and deep, quiet sleep will be slept!

See you next week!

  1. Enjoy. Sounds like you need a little R and R. Victoria is lovely (well maybe with a little less rain).

  5. Sounds like a little bit of heaven. I particularly like the part about "deep, quiet sleep." Nothing is so restorative as a good night's rest. Take lots of pictures please...

  6. Enjoy, Terri! So glad you know exactly where to go when you need to unwind. We ourselves are on a little excursion to the Island on Friday to visit our friends in Comox. Looking forward to the salty air and a long cool walk on the beach. xo
