The Not-Very-Odd Chair Company

So I thought I'd share one of my favorite English companies with you:  The Odd Chair Company.  The Odd Chair Company are custom furniture makers and upholsters who use traditional techniques and materials in all their designs. They can even make allergy-free products for the modern man!

Here are some of my favorite selections from their seductive site.  There is nothing odd about these chairs...just simply lovely!

How about these charming pink species:

The English can really pick a pattern:

I love these regal beauties:

And I could stare at this handsome pair all day:

While this pretty pair sit quietly in any room:

Or how about this airy and gracious look (I want them both!):

Nothing says perfection like these classic pieces (isn't the rose sofa a dream?):

And some are best for just admiring:

I hope you've enjoyed the tour - please visit their site.

  2. Beautiful chairs and sofas! I must admit, I am awful with upholstery - I know what I like, I just don't have a good feel for the proper scale and I absolutely can't pick fabrics - there are way too many! However, I always like to know about all of the good companies that make the goods. Thanks for spreading the word!

I love the chaise and the chesterfields. If I ever have a formal living room one day I would love a chestfield, but in a neutral linen colour rather than the traditional leather.

  4. The pink chairs are so pretty. They don't look too "frumpy", and would be fun to have around. Thanks for the link. I'll have to check it out!

  6. I am like you! Love the British home style and their comfy chairs. Most of our upholster furnitures are made in the UK. My favourite are our arm chairs called Howard.

  7. I am back with news from the rose garden! You see, I knew that have seen a list over roses from Canada! The are all raised to fit the cold climate so they would be perfect in your garden.
    Here are the names:

Beauty of Leafland - Sweet pale pink/yellow.

Haidee - Lovely pink filled flowers.

    Hazeldean - Wonderful yellow.

Henry Hudson - Pink buds and white, pale pink flowers.

Jens Munk - Pink flower through the whole summer.

John Cabot - Red. Can be used as a climber.

Lac Majeau - Gorgeous white with yellow "eye".

Louis Bugnet - Very beautiful with white roses. The buds have a bit of purple on them.

Martin Frobisher - Pink pale / white flowers.

    Sweet Adeline - Pink beauties.

Therese Bugnet - Wonderful dark pink.

Maybe you should try to grow one of those? Roses are easy to grow. You have to cut them in spring and also fertilize them. But that's all!

    Good luck!
