Return from Florida

We are back from Florida, no thanks to the snow which kept us delayed in Chicago several hours last night.

I have some good and bad news to share following my visit with Dr. Piper, and will post in the next day or so, along with some photos!

In the meantime, here is the view from our condo apartment:
View from our balcony on Madeira Beach of Gulf of Mexico

I went for a walk on the beach every morning for about an hour and it did not take me long to discover that this is an extremely nice view to wake up to each day.

We have decided to move to Florida at the earliest possible opportunity (if you have any jobs available, do let me know).

It was warm and breezy the whole time (20-25C, or about 67-low 70's for you Fahrenheit people) most days.

Happy weekend!

  1. You SHOULD move to Florida! I don't live that far south, but weather in the southeastern US is pretty great. Eagerly anticipating the news from your trip, though not happy to hear it's mixed ...

  5. Aw, I'm glad you had fun! I haven't been to Florida since I was little, but I am dying to get to the Keys. :)

  6. (I am having such troubles posting here... Ongoing error messages like this one: "conflicting edits." I'm going to try posting again...this has been going on for over a week...and then just copy and paste and email if it won't fly. Was just reading about the troubles someone else was having and thought of all the trouble I've had right here.)

Perhaps you could have the best of both worlds and be a snow bird in the winter. Florida is no prize from May through October, though I suspect that your own corner is.

Eager to learn more about what the doc has told you. I do not like the bad thrown in with the good, though I am happy to know that there is good news.

  7. Hi, Terri - Welcome home! I hope the good news outweigh the bad.....look forward to what the doctor had to say.

As for that view: not bad :) I could live there, too. But the summers would be really, really hot and humid.

    Take care,
    Loi

  8. We bought a place in St. Petersburg last year and love it. It is the perfect sized city with everything to offer and lovely walks and historic homes just 15 mins from St. Pete beach.

I'm curious to find out what blog platform you have been using? I'm experiencing some minor security problems with my latest website and I'd like to find something more risk-free. Do you have any recommendations?
