200th Post!

Oh my, it's my 200th post!  Can you believe it?  Wow, I've been blathering on here quite a while.  And there are even a few of you who've been here from the beginning and still drop by from time to time (hello Jackie!).

Well, I'd hoped my 200th post would've been more monumental, but it's basically a quiet Friday night after a long, draining week when I didn't feel remotely appreciated.  At least my cat loves me.

I was going to get a 200th post gift for you (one of you anyway) in Paris and have a big draw on the site, but I just didn't get my act together to buy the presents.  But I promise, I'll surprise you all with a giveaway draw one day soon.

What I did come here to mention (before noticing my anniversary of sorts) was to tell you I'm starting a neat class tomorrow.  It's part of the Interior Design certificate at the local university - the class is called "History of Furniture".

Doesn't that sound delectable?  I can't wait to finally sort out my English Regency from my French Regence and my Chippendale's from my Queen Anne's.  The course will really be a lesson in history, and this is fine with me because I love old french and english history (especially as told in those great dramatic novels).

The course starts in ancient Greece and Rome and travels through the Middle Ages and Renaissance all the way up to the 20th century.  How clever will I be when this is done?  I'll be so brilliant you won't be able to stand me.  :)

Will let you know how the first class goes...

  4. Terri, congratulations on this milestone!

Yes, I'll suffer your brilliance if you'll share some of what you learn, which I know I can count on you to do. It does sound like a wonderful class and I hope that the instructor knows how to keep brilliant subject matter sparkling.
